Recently a friend suggested investing in defence stocks, but I initially declined. Now, 18 months later, the company, my friend works for is up 236%. So I decided to take a leap of faith to test this and created a diversified 'Pie' with various companies and invested around 2000€ three months ago. Moving forward we'll be sharing weekly updates on its progress. Let us know if you are interested in the names of the companies. Hit reply!

Also where would you like us to invest 2k in? We are open for suggestions. And yes we will track the progress in the newsletter.

Opinion piece: CEOs are running AI-powered sprints while instead they should be preparing for a marathon

One of our goals of the Minimum Viable Product is to provide a platform for start-ups, entrepreneurs as well as like-minded to share their thoughts and as such it is our pleasure today to share the thoughts of our former colleague Vladislava Kadija on what you should be focusing on when introducing AI into your organisation.

CEOs are running AI-powered sprints while instead they should be preparing for a marathon

While running sprints and marathons require different mindsets, some studies have shown that sprints can have multiple benefits in marathon preparation.

But can you excel at both simultaneously?

That is the question we should reflect on looking at today’s CEOs. Balancing the need to demonstrate short-term ROI on AI implementation while sustaining long-term AI innovation within their companies, CEOs face the challenge of delivering immediate value while conserving resources for ongoing transformation.

Looking at research from IBM this can be particularly demanding as:

·       67% of CEOs questioned are facing budget rigidity – “not giving them a chance to capitalize on digital opportunities that drive long-term growth and innovation” (2025 CEO Study - 5 mindshifts to supercharge business growth, pg. 20)

·       52% of CEOs say their organizations understandthe importance of generative AI beyond cost reduction” (Ibid., pg. 53)

·       And only one quarter of AI initiatives delivered expected ROI in the last 3 years (Ibid., pg. 50)

So, catch your breath and keep on going!

Across Europe, a quiet revolution is underway as governments, businesses, and institutions embrace open-source technologies to reduce their reliance on US tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. This movement is driven by a blend of strategic necessity, regulatory pressures, and a desire for greater digital sovereignty

AI THAT WAS TODAY - TODAY IS TOMORROW'S HISTORY

An easy way to determine how many people are dependent on something (not just using) is to take it down for some time and see how many people complain about it.

I truly hope this is not a real strategy.

Hopefully not deliberately, but when ChatGPT went down, it triggered over 500,000 searches about the issue on Google, making it the second most-searched topic in the U.S., and neatly demonstrating the scale of concern. 500,000 people searching equates to about one in every 680 people in the country being worried enough to try to find out what had happened.

💡 Why It Matters

The outage clearly demonstrated how many professionals and enterprises depend on ChatGPT for basic, daily tasks. Additionally, downtime in AI services can have a cascading effect on businesses and workflows, emphasizing the need for backup plans. Organizations should soon reassess their reliance on AI, build resilience (such as alternative tools or offline protocols), and clarify acceptable workplace use.

The question is not whether intelligent machines can have any emotions, but whether machines can be intelligent without any emotions.

OpenAI entered an unprecedented agreement with Google Cloud to supplement its compute capacity, marking a surprising collaboration between two fierce AI competitors. The deal stems from explosive demand as ChatGPT and other AI services scale, requiring more infrastructure than Microsoft Azure alone could support .

While Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary cloud partner, this move helps reduce reliance on Azure and is part of a broader compute expansion, including Stargate (Oracle & SoftBank) and multi‑billion‑dollar deals with CoreWeave

The partnership boosts Google’s standing in the hyperscaler race, increasing its share of high-performance workloads at a time when its cloud revenue is under pressure

Alphabet stock rose ~2% on the news, while Microsoft saw a slight dip. Analysts called it “somewhat surprising,” highlighting shifting dynamics in the AI compute ecosystem

💡 Why It Matters

This deal underscores how intense infrastructure demands can blur competitive lines—AI developers now view raw compute capacity as essential leverage. OpenAI’s move reflects a trend toward multi-cloud resilience, strategic compute partnerships, and infrastructure hedging in the AI race.

Meta has signed a power purchase agreement with AES to secure 650 megawatts (MW) of solar energy—400 MW from Texas and 250 MW from Kansas—to support its growing AI and data center infrastructure. This new addition expands Meta’s renewable energy holdings, which already exceed 12 gigawatts, reinforcing its strategy to power infrastructure with clean sources

💡 Why it matters

As Meta ramps up its AI ambitions, energy demand skyrockets. Locking in long-term, cost-efficient renewable supply like solar helps control operating expenses, ensures reliable energy, and aligns with climate commitment
